No markings or certain age.  Only example we've ever seen.  In personal collection for more than 40 years.  7 1/2 inches.

Translucent glass with blue carved overlay. Comes with stand. Unknown age but probably fairly modern (late 20th century?) 3" high, 6" wide at lip of bowl.

Chinese Overlay Carved Glass, also known as Peking Glass (Tao Liao Ping in Chinese), is a traditional form of art that starts with a one-color glass base, dipped into contrasting colored glass one layer at a time. The artist then carves away portions of the overlaid glass to reveal layers of other colors underneath, following certain designs. It is a lengthy and tedious process that is time consuming and labor intensive.

Period authentic carnival glass pin.  Originally a hatpin.  Set in sterling silver pre 1950.  A most interesting hat pin with a striking shape. Many carnival glass hat pins were made in Czechoslovakia, but we are uncertain of the origin of this pin.  2 inches.  Carnival glass is moulded or pressed glass, always with a pattern and always with a shiny, metallic, 'iridescent' surface shimmer. Carnival glass gets its iridescent sheen from the application of metallic salts while the glass is still hot from the pressing. A final firing of the glass brings out the iridescent properties of the salts, giving carnival glass the distinct shine it is known for.

A single stamp sheet cancelled July 31, 1995, date of issue.  Sheet is 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches.  Tanzania is home to the Serengeti and Mount Killamanjaro as well as this remarkable species of bats. The Pemba flying fox (Pteropus voeltzkowi) is a species of flying fox in the family Pteropodidae. It is endemic to the island of Pemba on the coast of Tanzania. The Pemba flying fox has a wingspan of 1.6 metres (5 ft 3 in) and is one of the largest species of fruit bat. It has a fox-like face, tawny fur, orange underparts and black ears, nose and wings. The adult weight is 400 to 650 g (0.9 to 1.4 lb), and the head and body length is 24.0 to 26.5 cm (9.4 to 10.4 in).
