Handmade Bat Quilts and Bat Quilting Fabric

Stuck home and not travelling to events because of the pandemic, Batgoods.com owner Emily Davis has been spending a great deal of time in her sewing room finding interesting and new patterns, unused fabrics in the stash and creative ideas to work with. The result has been some unusual and original designs.

Featuring some of our favorite bat fabrics and swirling bats embroidered over all.

By Emily Davis. 2023. 69 by 58 inches. Internally asymmetrical fussy cut blocks make this quilt dance. The bat fabric with large flying bats demanded something special and this design is the answer. Custom quiting in the design of swirling winds finish the impression.

Oriental designs. One star features bats, as do the small squares throughout.

Varigated thread used in the hand pieced, and professionally quilted work finishing the beautiful effect. Complete with a haging sleeve built in, this work would make a spectacular wall hanging, bed or furniture cover.

By Emily Davis. 2022. 54 by 63 inches. This quilt was designed and partly assembled during our annual trip to The Big Island of Hawaii. She used the silhouette of the Hawaiian Hoary Bat, (Lasiurus semotus), also known as 'ope'ape'a, and was influenced by our Hawaiian surroundings with the fabric colors.
